22000km on my 98 SRX7, i replaced rings and pistons at approx 14000 just as preventative maintenance. i've also replaced the 3 power valves and the cables since then. it has never missed a beat, still runs great. loved it so much i picked up a 2001 SRX7 with only 1300km a couple of months ago. this old girl is now going to be handed down to my 14 year son and we are going to tear it apart and clean her all up. should be good for a few more years. got to love those Yamaha's.

15,000km and never touched, I had the heads off this summer to check the pistons and one has some minor scoring.

little over 6000 miles. never been touched. not even the power valves.
mopar1rules said:on the '97's the mag side crank bearings liked to go out. they were the cheap junk like the polaris triples had for bearings. then in '98 yamaha changed the bearings and no problems. my buddy has just gotten lucky i guess. only '97 i know of so far that hasn't had the mag crank bearings replaced. i think he might be treading on thin ice, but then if its lasted this long, maybe its just a good one that won't go down???
We have a 97, tore the motor down for the first time at 7400 miles, did the crank bearings just because we could. Probably wouldnt of had to but we did, with the original 97 style, didnt machine the case or anything.

Not an SRX or Viper but 25,000 km on my 700 sx never touched until last summer, no problems. Still could have run another 10,000 easy.

how big is your farm?
i have run ring free and yamalube since day 1.
sorry, i misspoke when i said "not even the power valves". i forgot last year the center PV was opened up with just shy of 6,000 miles. I asked the mechanic if he was going to clean it and he said why? within 200 miles it would look the same again. yes, they were that clean.
