I have a 2000 SRX 700 with a can and clutching done to it. Im putting on some v-force 3 reeds and some reed spacers with a bender cold air kit in the dash cowling. Wondering if im going to have to rejet it, im sure someone has been down this road before me. thanks for any info.

Dont know on the exact jetting... I know for mine im using 148.8 148.8 and 151.1

You will def need to change the jetting though especially after the cold intake... sorry I couldnt help ya more... but i would think my Port and polish would even out to your cold air intake.. or close to it.... but i guess ill see when others post

Don,t do the cold air kit or v-force reeds. The srx stock reeds work great & the spacers will give some gain. The 00 srx,s are allready lean & had a jetting update. The cold air kit will lean out your engine way too much & v-force reeds are a waste of cash

Can any one point me into the direction to read about spacer... for some reason search button didnt help me

Wouldnt mind finding out if its worth the effort...

The reed spacer is not really designed to provide more power as much as smoother operation and more predictable throttle response by allowing the fuel and air mixture more time to atomize before entering the cylinder. A slight power gain is just a coincidental by product and not really measurable

Thanks for the info!

Then in the long run wouldn't it be better for the engine since its getting mixed up more before burning allowing a more cleaner/proper detonation....

which in turn gives better throttle response....

Dont mean to thread jack but, I was wondering if anyone knew the stock jetting for the 00 SRX 700. Still havent been able to find a manual and i wanted to clean the carbs tonight.

pilots are 42.5 w/fuel screws @ 1-1/8. i would recommend changing to this for jetting....

pto 148.8 main, 147.5 for center and mag
1-1/4 to 1-1/2 on the fuel screws, especially if having a lean bog @ 1-1/8.
leave needles alone and pilot jets alone.

Thanks guys, I already have all the stuff but got good deals on the, its ready for reeds anyways so i will probably use the v-force, but now may not use the cold air kit cowling. Hard to beat even stock srx's, they are legends here.

The V-Force Reeds definately won't hurt your performance. Check out Tripple-X post of Dyno Runs on the forum under" Cold air kit? ".

Is this the jetting update that ive been reading about? My carbs did have stock mains in it. Wondering if Yamaha only reccomended this jetting for certain areas...im about 150ft above sea level.
