I bought a 96 Vmax last year with 400 miles. Put on 1000 miles on it. and ran all amsoil in it. Then I summerized it. Just got it out of storage and pulled the carbs apart and absolutly nothing. totally clean. just one thing I don't have to worry about. any others so lucky

Ya, that was the usual story for me as well, before the 4 stroke. But I always did it because I didn't want to have to worry about all the way up to departure for the first trip.

X2 - I still check them for piece of mind and with today's fuel it's a wise thing to do, but I have yet to find junk 7 times in 7 years on my '01 SRX.

Just got done doing the carb thing to my 02 sxr 600. When I pulled it from storage a few day ago it idled like crap, and even backfired at times with lite throttle input. Found one pilot plugged and another almost plugged.

Seems to run great now. This is only my second year with this sled, and I did nothing to it last year.

Here impo. For the 30 min it takes to pull the carbs off and to clean them to make sure you have clean sleds why not pull them?

With all 5 sleds I have now I always find the pilot is clogged everytime at the beginning of the season. I would never run the sleds this way. These pilots just suck and need to be cleaned.

I really don't want to have my engine burn down because of a quick carb cleaning. It is not worth the engine missing, rebuilding, problems, and pita problems.....

With that said good to hear but make sure you check your pilots good.. ;)!
