Rebuilt my entire engine at the end of last season and am finally getting everything back together and am trying to align the motor / primary for Center to Center. According to the tech pages C2C for this model is: 268.5 mm (~10.5 inches). With the motor mounts as far forward as possible I can only squeeze ~9.5 inches from the center of the secondary sheave to the center of the primary sheave. Am I measuring wrong or is something else up?

Being a full inch off (even without proper alignment tools) is boggling my mind. Are the motor mounts the only way to align the clutches for C2C?

Thanks!

Everything i looked up reads 10.57" Not sure how you are measuring. Sure you don't have a motor mount on wrong. I'll measure the wife's 600 XT when i get home tonight.

If I remember on my 96, I thought they had a torque arm that kept that distance pretty constant. You could adjust offset with shims on the 2ndary. It's been a while tho.

Yes the torque arm only allows so much movement... which is why I am so confused. I HAVE to be measuring wrong but don't see how.

I made a little tool that had a hook on it and it went over the clutch and to the secondary. I had the measurments marked on it. Basically was a peice of light flat stock. Then I had the other side marked for offset.
