Inner Cahincase removal

Blew up my chaincase last year due to a broken bolt. So, I bought a new one on here and I have come to a problem trying to get the old one off. The inner parking brake on the back side of the rotor is in the way. I think it is just splinned onto the shaft, but I could be missing something.
 
On the instructions it says to remove the rotor with the chaincase but mine was stuck so I cut the bolt off from the parking brake, and took it off, much easier, IMO.
 
Cut the bolt off??? Maybe the SX Viper is different than my SX-r but I just disassembled 1/2 the park brake. The problem was that the spacer collar and brake rotor were stuck to the jack shaft. Once it was all off and cleaned up, I could reassemble the parking brake out on the bench and put it all back on the sled at once.
 
I don't know if all sleds are like mine but, mine had the bolt going from the area above your right foot, up through the parking brake and springs, and had the nuts on the topside. If the bolt would have been installed the other way(from the top down) then I could have unbolted it and taken it off, but because of the way the bolt was installed on my sled I couldn't slide it out enough, before it hit the tube going to the heat exchanger. If that makes any sense.........
 
Yeah the parking brake is the same on all models up to the 2004 I believe There is a key its about 1.5" long and 1/4" wide that the brake disk uses to connect to the shaft this is probally rusted on a little spray some WD40 in between the shaft and the rotor let it sit for 20 min and use rubber hammer and smack the disk a few times this will break the rust free
 
You wont need to take the parking break off . the disk comes off with the chaincase I did this at my cabin one day I blew the chaincase bearing. It took me an hour and alot of persuasive smacks! Just be careful not to bend your brake rotor

Same for mine but it wasn't necessary to get the bolt out, just took the nuts off, undid the spring on the first brake pad arm, and removed that one arm. The rest can come along for the ride when you take the case off. I know everyone says that the rotor "just slides off" but believe me, mine was going nowhere and I spent way too much time trying to avoid taking the brake apart when it's really not a hard thing to do. Just memorize how that spring goes because the two are different for each brake arm.
