electrics start price/install time?

About how much does an electric start kit for a 2001 SXR700 cost? I read through the installation procedure, about how long does it take to complete this? Is it very difficult?

It's discontinued from Yamaha so you'll have to go with a left-over. They typically can be had for $300-$400. Look for a complete kit because it includes a dry battery. Otherwise, you'll pay another $80-$100 for that. There is nothing difficult. The kit even comes with the loctite. It will take an evening to install and it's made easier if you put the starter in while your clutch is off for the ring gear install.
