Brackets to put viper shocks on an SRX

-snip - Just bolting on the brackets/shocks gave me too high of a front ride height so I had to widen out my front end...ski stance is now 43".

X2

I used Venture radius/tie rods and kept the SRX trailing arms (shorter spindles), but I was after a wider stance (and travel) from the start.

jeepjimmy, i will be making a set for mine but i'm waiting for parts coming from canada, when everything gets here i may make a few sets, but i dont want to get into the shock bracket business so it will be a limited #

contact Gaston's Sports and Marine in Kapuskasing ON. I saw some there this summer. www.gastons.ca . I'm not sure exactly if they were just SRX drop down or Viper to SRX, etc. but it's worth checking.

Wow, I have been looking and looking for these brackets and decided to go back to this post and reread it since I did not get to this until well after a few days had passed since you posted this, I thought for sure someone would have seen this and bought these from this place in Canada. I ended up calling them yesterday afternoon and the guy said yes I have ONE set sitting here at the counter, needless to say I bought them right then and they are sending them out first thing this morning. He said they have had this one set sitting there for over a year because a customer ordered them from them and never picked them up. This place got them from Hauck racing. Either way, thanks for the post and the web site, I finally can finish the sled and go and enjoy the 15inchs of new snow at the cottage. Again, thanks for the heads up. Here is a picture of the brackets for dropping the shocks down for more clearance in the front.

Those brackets will not work for the viper shocks they are only a diffreent mounting position to raise and lower the stock ohlins or kyb that come on the srx. Viper shocks have a clevis on the top not eyelets!

ok so if we knew what the lower bumper height was with the viper shocks on we could fab up a set? So anyone with a viper(long travel rear) and true viper fronts with brackets tell me what the bottom height to your front bumper.....I know it is a lot to ask but pretty please:)

those brackets were specifically designed to convert from eye shocks to clevice shocks, and sold by hauck as "srx to viper adjustable shock mounts". the design would allow the clevice to ride outside the mount on one side and inside on the other. not a real solid shock mounting idea, but it worked if you didnt overtighten the stock bolt. had them on my srx for over 6 years now.

ok kirk so with your sled sitting on the ground you measure to the bottom of the bumper and it is 23"? Both your front and rear suspensions have been long traveled with viper shocks?

Yes they were I still have the rear long travelled but now I have my ohlins put back on cause it was too tipsie! too high up for narrow ski stance need widening kit!

i havnt tried it yet myself and it looks like kind of a pain but i have heard you can change the bulkhead to a viper one or something like that then you have the right mounts. I havnt tried it but i do have a wrecked viper with the bulk head and by looking at it i dont see why it wouldnt work, seems like everything mounts up the same and in the same spots as my srx. i think it will be a project for next summer so i dont have it all in pieces during good riding weather.

I'm not sure what good it'll do to know this as spring pre-load would change the bumper height. I finally have mine back on the ground and will measure.

snodad, can you explain how you mounted these bracket to a SRX bulkhead. They appear to be an adjustable mount for a Viper or SX style bulkhead. The SRX brackets have 2 bolts that go directly inward holding them to the bulkhead, these brackets appear to have one going inward, and one going front to back(circled area) as if to hold the bracket to the "Horn" of the Viper style bulkhead, which the SRX doesnt have.

I think I can do better than that. I took off the bracket last night and snapped some pics and measurements. Stay tuned.
