max performance went out of business about 4 years ago but you might be able to find a used 780.
A 780 mill will gain you about 20 HP on your 98 and you can use the stock pipes
You need the power valves, cylinders, heads, pistons, and rings

I had a Simons CPR 780 on my 2002 it rocked. I sold it and kick myself to this day for doing it.
Properly jetted they can be reliable as stock.
This will be year three on my 780. Running like a fine swiss watch. Good fuel, proper jetting, and proper warm up. I feel that given these three things it's as reliable as a stocker.

the bender 835 makes the most h.p. & is very dependable. mine was 194 h.p. @ dyno tech on pump gas. jim said if i leaned it out for the day it would be 200+. i have about 3000 trail miles on it & no problems. 7 mpg on our crappy wny trails & 9 mpg in canada. that's w/ reverse & viper suspension front & rear. tell "the swede" i said hi!

haha sweden isnt russia :P it gets about minus 10-30 degrees celsius in wintertime, so i wont need steroids to be able to pull the starting rope...
hmm, so whats the deal, should i get a bender or a hauck kit? dunno whats best and most bang for the bucks... is it possible to buy one of those kits used? like on ebay or something maybe??

The rope won't be hard to pull.............
Try pulling over a 70mm stroker 1136cc triple with 185 lbs of compression, using a stock SX recoil....

You need one of those starters like the top fuel dragsters use. Just put it on the clutch and let it do the work.
