clutch cover ?

anyone know if the clutch cover has an anodized coating on it, was going to buff it out and it didn't seem to cut like bare aluminum, but i don't have any oven cleaner here to try stripping it. wondering if anyone here knew off the top of their head

Hey Staggs,

The cover on my '01 is bare aluminum. I buffed mine to a mirror finish. Can't imagine your's is different.

thanks snomofo just wanted to make sure before i wasted an hour trying to cut through anodizing

If it is the clutch guard you are talking about. my 99srx cleaned up great with some metal polish you can shave in it now. The only hard part is gettin between the plug and belt holders.

I removed the belt holders before polishing mine - one was loose anyways. A little extra work but it made it easier.

X2, take the rivets out & put back on later. I put my powerball in my drill press & polish lot of things like that. Just make sure drill is at low enough speed.
