wheres the best place to splice in an electric shield hook up on an 05 venom?, thanks ahead for the responses

Under the handlebar pad is a blue/white wire. I believe its for the headlights. That is where I spliced into on my wifes '06 venom. I took some insulation off this wire and soldered the shield wire to it. Make sure you put a inline fuse in there. I believe that is a 1.5 amp fuse, not sure. I grounded to the handlebar clamp.
