How do these work on a fairly stock redhead 700 with the single pipe and is it a good enough upgrade to justify the expense over upgrading with oem parts as I have done now?Any feedback would be appreciated.

The only reason you would want heel clickers is to easily find the right settings... you have a couple good options.

1. Ask turk
2. Buy the Heel clickers, to find the perfect setting, then sell them and buy the proper components.

Turk ran them many years ago on a sled like mine, but does'nt remember how they worked.I can see his point of not remembering some setups as he's setup a ton of sleds over the years.

Right now I have stock weights with 4.5 gram rivets in both holes a rx-1 51/43 helix in the secondary and all else stock as far as clutching goes.I have 142.5 mains in carbs, needles lowered 1/2 position, reed spacers and single layer head gasket. The sled runs well this way and a was a definite improvement over when it was stock along with better mileage.I've just been wondering about heel clickers they sound great, but I just have'nt heard much about there use on a single piped redhead 700.

hauck kits suck....all clutch kits suck. best clutch setups are the ones that tuners dial in to their particular sled.
that may be true . but too many dont have a clue what there doing :bash:
i work on sleds , its amazing how they get messed up . i got my venture set up very good for the trail , last year a buddy was borrowing a a 03 800 rev . he is 50 # lighter than me . well he gets on it , on the trail . hum i had to use only half throttle to keep up at trail speeds . - 60mhph. so proper set up is very important. you can have 140 hp motor but if its not clutched right . forget it . my kids old 500 efi was a dog off the line . i did not care as he had to play computer games . well he sold it . now we care as its used . so i grab some odd weights out of the bin . like a modded k1 dont know what it came from , but
hody crap ya better hang on . so yes tuneing is a art , but ya got to know how to get there

In my opinion they work very good if you know what you are doing. They surely seemed to lower the clutch temps on my 01 MM 700 compared to the stock set up. It really holds the hard belt like the clutches are supposed to do.

Here's my set up: (Peak rpm: 8450).

Developed for: 01 MM 700
Temp/Alt: -20/+5c /100m/500m
Gearing: 21/40
Track: 2 inch stock yokohama.
Track length: 141.
Mods on sled:

-Jetting (141,3s across, 47,5 pilots) (watch out at -20!)
-Hauck headgasket.
-Notched reedstoppers.

Primary:
15 mm rollers
5,2 gram in heel (you will need to grind the washers so they will not hit the rollers) (Engages at 4200 rpm)
5 grams (4,8 actually) in tip.
Red HC primary spring.

Secondary:
Red hauck spring at 70 deg
44/38 helix but if you haven't got more than the stock helix, you can try that too and tune from there.

Hauck

I have delt with Hauck for many years now, purchased a lot of kits, components, misc. It is my conclusion that it is a matter of who you work with getting your kit. I have worked with some of his employees to get a kit that is waaaaaay off on more than one occasion. I will say that every time I have delt directly with Pat regarding purchases and advice, he has always been dead on. So now, when i call up there, I just ask for Pat, and if he is not available, I call back later. In my experience he has always shown me great customer service as well. I think that as his business has grown, there are others that are less experienced and maybe not experienced helping with orders and kits and such. These days, instead of buying kits, I force myself to test the setups and do it myself instead of paying for those kits. And......TY has been a tremendously helpful for me too! :rocks:

Thank you I appreciate your help and insights on this.It sounds like were running similar setups.I may give these a shot this winter.
