is the ski doo BV2S helmets a flip up helmet? Not talking about the visor, but the actual mouth guard section or is it a fixed 1 piece helmet???And how sound proof are they. My flip up Gmax helmet is noisy.Doesn't have that tight seal,so when going down the river at 100 you can just hear the wind and vibration and can't hear the sled.

The mouth section flips down and the visor flips up. As far as being heavy just got mine, so haven't had a chance to use it yet.
bigreis said:I have never noticed the weight of the BV2S as being excessive and I am a real puss about stuff not fitting right and always wanting to be comfortable when I ride. After days of 300+ miles, my neck and shoulders have never been sore. Even if the helmet was made out of lead I would still wear it because of how great it is to be able to breathe normally and not ever fog up, regardless of how cold it is or how hard I am breathing. The built in sun visor is awesome too... I wear glasses and hated having to goof around with remembering to bring sunglasses... the sunvisor took care of that problem too.
I haven't ridden with the Modular helmet that the other guys are talking about, but I had read that the mask on that one can be hard to get to fit right and that it is prone to breakage... that is why I got the BV2S.
I also don't notice the weight of mine either. I have the first version of the modular ski doo. Like the one here http://cgi.ebay.com/Ski-Doo-Modular...wmobile_Parts_Accessories?hash=item335793d04b .
And yes the mask takes some getting used to but after puttin miles on it, and readjusting the straps and putting the tubes back in the mask and all that, the straps kind of curl and form to your face, so now for me its a snap and go thing. No problems what so ever, no fogging(ive personally tested it in -15F with -40F wind chills). I love it, kind of wondered why I didn't buy one sooner. This will be my 3rd or 4th year with it now.
EDIT: If you do buy one, these run about 2 or 3 sizes too small. I wear a XXXL.
