I am wondering if you block them off will this cause problems? I am tired of the oil mess. I would not see any reason it would hurt anything? Anyone try this/

This exact thing I have wondering about too! It´s cause an awful mess underneath it

it would cause the airbox to be preasurized and your jetting would be a mess to straighten out. Get some mess like for ac filters and put in the bottom. It soaks up some of the mess and doesn't block the holes. Maxdlx

i'd have to go to the garage and check if theres clearance under the airbox, but maybe one of those blue oil drip pads under the box would help, we use em on construction sites all the time, i've never bought any but i would guess auto part stores would have em

I don't understand why it would pressurize the box. It has plenty of air through the top
I wonder if anyone blocked these off before? It would be great to clean the mess up.....

If you are making a mess, I would check your reed valves.
The holes are there to let water drain (ingested snow that melts).
Any of those oil soak methods would be fine as long as it can't be sucked into the intake.

All trips have spit back, just how it is,normal i would not block them off, what i do is remove the AB and cut a few pieces of vac hoses and shove em up into the holes it still breaths and acts like a dam to hold the oil in,every so often wipe out your ab build up..

Or connect tubes to the holes and route to the tube out of the sled somewhere, like re-routing the PCV in a car/truck.

Thats what I did... only I used some flexible faucet hose left over from a replacement job. Had to touch the holes open just a bit, but works fine. Clean it every other trip or so, but no mess underneath.daman said:All trips have spit back, just how it is,normal i would not block them off, what i do is remove the AB and cut a few pieces of vac hoses and shove em up into the holes it still breaths and acts like a dam to hold the oil in,every so often wipe out your ab build up..

One advantage of having a Boost Bottle kit on the SRX + SXs is rhe airboxes remain basically clean + dry.
