Ok, i need a head for my sx700 '98. A guy near my location is specialized in trading yamaha parts so i get to see him but he dosen't have cylinder heads for 700cc with the plug for the carbs coolant, but have some 600cc cylinder heads.

Anyone tried that? I know it will have more compression because of the shape of the chamber that isn't the same but I only have to play with the gasket to get my compression correct. So what's about this head? Is it better than the 700cc in them of efficiency? Thanks

The dome is smaller in diameter than the 700, your piston may hit on the edges because of not having enough clearance.

I am positive you can't run 600CC heads on a 700... Even the peak performance heads are different for each, and they have interchangeable domes.

I buy used parts from a guy in Illinos, he is great. his number is (815) 739-1965.

tell him the guy from minnesota that he is sending a relay to for a SXR700 sent ya.

Thanks. Steve Campbell
