I am planning on installing a rear heat exchanger on my viper, however i have a studded track and everyone says i need heat exchanger protectors. However i can't seem to put my hands on some. What is my next move?

LOL - If you get hammered enough and stay that way, it won't matter.
Yamaha have now discontined the protectors. I bought mine on Ebay for $30 shipped

I didnt put any on when I added a rear heat exchanger and havent encountered any problems in 6 years
ok, and if i can't find one i'll just fab one up because they look pretty simple to build. But i believe my dealer was going to get a viper mountain heat exchanger, however i like the srx ones. does the srx fit on a 03 viper and is it better than the viper mountain one.

I just put an SRX cooler in mine, not too much work, I had to do a little cutting, and drill the new hole for the bleed screw. I also found my tunnel protectors were too long for the cooler to fit in there all the way, so I had to grind those back a little bit. Once you are done, everything pretty much looks factory.
