GO TO YOUR DEALER AND SEE IF THIS PART NUMBER IS STILL GOOD. 8CR-85720-01-00 !! THIS WILL FIX IT. 3:16 (yammie tony)
I have an oil sensor that tests out fine (the procedure is in the manual), but it still intermittently lights the Oil Level light. I swapped to another sensor and it still lights up. Just saying that I would test the sensor first before ordering a new one. I haven't found the root cause, but it is likely in the wiring.
I noticed you had another post about your tach not working. Could all be related to a wiring problem??
i will look into the wiring soon the oil light goes off when unplugged.jaydaniels said:I noticed you had another post about your tach not working. Could all be related to a wiring problem??
if i tap on the oil tank by the sensor the light will shut off and on. should i pull it out and clean it.

I would before I went and bought another one and I would also inspect the wiring at the same time....it will take you about 15 min and you should know whats up!!! n Good Luck
i will check it out later the tank is full and a new part is only 19 dollars. thanks for the help.

the senser pulls up out of the bottle, doesnt matter if it's full or not,,check it out for contact, just a simple switch.

My 2001 SRX is doing the same thing. What happens if you just leave it alone? Does the sensor do anything but warn you that the oil tank is low? Let me know.
Thanks

try a new sensor, there was a problem with them back in 2000 doing that,a new sensor will cure the problem. it's a simple circuit not much that can go wrong.on1_wheel said:mine is doing the same, tank is full, but the light stays on

daman pretty much covered it, try a new sensor, if that doesnt work check for harness rub through, rub throughs can give all kinds of crazy symptoms but start with sensor
