Hey guys and gals...

Just wondering.... is there anywhere I can get "cheaper" exhaust donuts? the ones that go over the exhaust flange...


I price them out a 25 bucks a pop... in my opinion I find abit steep of a price... any one else use something different? or find some where else that would sell the right size...

I guess im abit cheap but 75 bucks for 3 is alot of cash that could go elsewhere

I've got my pipes off now and bought one new donut last year. I noticed it has a double bevel O.D. profile which I hope crushes into the single profile the old ones show.

I gave it to a friend who is looking for a lower cost alternative. I'm hoping he can cross reference it to something similar in an automotive application.

I should know something early next week. Stay tuned.
 
unless something new is out....

You'll have to just bight the bullet and get OEM we/me tryed crossing/searching to automotive a year or two ago but no luck.
 
I've used high temp silicone in my bike pipe, when i took it apart it was just powder, I don't think it's rated for this high of temps.
 
Yeah, I put a bit on the pipe itself, then slid the donut over top and then put some on the donut itself and slid the pipe over that. I haven't fired it up yet but it looks like it will seal really good.

What colour did you use? All pipe manufactures recommend the black stuff, which is rated even lower than the ultra copper. I think it will be fine.
 
I used the ultra copper.... thats the one they refered to use for my Rossier exhaust... truthfully never heard of the black stuff until I read up on these threads...
 
I don't use that copper silicone crap makes the under hood look like crap with that orange stuff oozing out all over the pipes flanges,just buy the gaskets and she'll be good to go for a long time seal great and look great..

just my $.02 boy'z.....

I would say as long as your going to own the sled,i replaced mine two years ago and they look like new yet i know that's not a long time but they last look at the originals when you buy a sled 10 years later there fine.
 
Mine in my X worked ok yet(started getting mashed out not sealing just right) i just threw in a new set to avoid future problems/leaks.

check springs too that will cause gaskets to fail prematurely
 
well how exacly do you check the springs to make sure they are good.... i figure if they are a bitch to take off their good... n they where pretty solid to take off.. but i do know they are def not new springs

Well that's the thing if there tuff to get off there good if they require little effort there junk,that's how i gauge em, lol.

pipes will feel loose also move around easily and wear out the gaskets.
 
yea ill have to put em together and see... just to make sure... especially after hearing the top ones are alot more expensive.. the springs cant be THAT expensive I would think....??
