I am asking because my service light don't work and trying to get to the bottom of things with this.

This box I have came off my 98 vmax 700 e/r. I wonder how I have a newer box on this.

I just bought a manual for the yamahas and it does not show anything about this box. I was hoping something would show up.

It shows a Mitsubishi symbol on this but I could find nothing. I would love to know how to test this box out to see if everything is a ok

There has to be someway to show what box does what by these numbers...

That cdi box fits all 600 and 700 red heads till 2001 with single bulb headlights. The dual bulb head light uses a DC CDI system not AC. There will be no specs or ways to test the a CDi box given from yamaha.

Why do you suspect the CDI box to be bad? Usually if the sled runs properly the CDI box is good.

Is where this all came about is I found out some older sleds have the diag light on start up. As far back as the vmax4

I thought there was a way to test this feature but somehow I guess there is not.
