The cable pulled itself out of the back of the power valve, is this a pretty normal problem when they break? If so should I replace all 3 as preventive maintenance? Thanks. Justin

Yep normal thing that can happen when they don't get cleaned AND adjusted properly on a regular bases,do a search on the site some members here can repair them or find good used ones,if one pulled through the others may not be far behind look em over.
depending on miles ridden they should be cleaned every 5-1,000 miles,it's easy to do and could save one big $$.
Good luck!

Hey... this happens to the better of us at one point to another.... you can try and prevent it from happenin but odds are they will pull through eventually...
if you contact Ya*am*a*head he can fix them for you and you wont need to worry about them pulling through again.... all you will need to do is replace the cables...

contact him and he can explain to you what exacly he does and everything.... he will fix them for 20$ each... (plus the cost of shipping) I have dealt with him on buying parts and everything went great... and he is quick at getting things done...

my dealer told me to coat the end of the power valve cable and slot (lead ball)with some grease before reassemblying them. The seal keeps the oil from going up the shaft of the valve so there really isn't any lube that gets in there.
i know i do that to my valves every time i take mine apart and there seems to be some lube left. i figure it can't hurt. just my 2 cents
