I have a 98 SRX700 that is in nice shape with a bad engine and track. I just picked up another 98 with running motor and a nice Camoplast track. I have the engines and tracks out of both right now and I am looking to swap.

I have a couple questions...the nice sled has 4000 miles on it. Should I replace the bearings on the chaincase side? They seem tight and spin very free of any friction. Upper and lower bearings on PTO side have some play and definitely need to be replaced. I am guessing the chaincase side bearings are tight due to being bathed in oil. Question is...do I just replace it all while I am in there?

Second one is I'd like to go with 23/38 gearing. If I go with a 13 wide setup, do I need to shim the gears out more so the tensioner engages the chain properly?

TIA
