Can you check what the cylinder heads say on your machine, I cannot remember exactly what mine said, but I kind of remember that the one had a slightly different text stamped on than the other two.
So, if you have a 00-02 machine, can you check if your cylinder heads say the same or does one say something else?

I have an 00. It has 8DN-10 on it. I think 98-99's are 8DN-00.
Thanks, I am beginning to suspect that I might have two DN-00's on it..
My 2002 Heads = 8DN-10
I also have some 1998-1999 Heads = 8DN-00

You might be more right than you think. Wrong heads will set off the dcs more easily, retarding the timing and causing the sled to go slow.

More headache:
I just got the heads, both have 8dn 10 cast on them allright. But one says also OG1 while the other says OG2.
The OG1 has also 1E29 cast on it while the other has 1F12.
I don't understand how you can get different casting on the same part #???

i had the same thing lasst year when i replaced a head, nothing to worry about, its just a casting # from wich plant or something, same head

My stock 2002 SRX heads have varying casting numbers as well...same heads otherwise.
