I have a 2000 SRX that just died on me a week ago and I ended up taking the sled completely a apart to go over everything like the wiring harness and other stuff like the seat, gas tank, motor. the reason I did this is because there is no spark I did check in the search area and there is alot of info on this problem, what I need to know is what the Multimeter should be reading when testing the stator mine is reading 0.00 but this is on a cold motor noway of heating it like it should be.
I need the sled running now because now that I ran my mouth to all my friends saying they would not have a chance against the SRX, I'm now a sitting here chasing electrical problems please help

Did you get a PDF srx manual i was handing out? if not i'll shoot you a copy then you'll have the procedure/specs to test it...
yes I did get it, I'm a little slow on using a multimeter though
would it make a differance if the engine was out and cold versus hot and in the sled to check the stator

Stators are checked warm yes, cant remeber off hand what the book calls for but yea.
I hope I found the problem I took the stator and flywheel off and the stator was covered in grease and sand or some sort of fine powder, it was cake all over the flywheel and pickup coil.
I hope this clears up my no spark problem
Everything else checked out fine the wiring harness had old rub through which was fixed by the previous owner So I just cleaned everything up and retaped everything
