97 sx700 with about 5500 miles on it.
problem is that it seams like it has weak spark....i guess. lol!
symptoms are that it seams and runs like it has fouled plugs but there not. they are new. its hard starting and wont keep idling or running. along with that, the lights are real dim at low rpm's, wont keep running at idle and the hand warmers were real weak. power feels real down and kinda like a fouled plug/plugs....
this started at the end of last season and i never worked on it all summer. just cleaned the carbs and did a compression test and theres 120 lbs on all 3.
the tors is disabled and mechanically everything is sound.
i would point at the stator as the problem but dont really know how to test it.
so, i guess i need to know how to test the stator and the whole igniton/electrical system.
thanks!!!! were getin snow really soon and want to ride!
(i feel like a real idot not getting to this sooner
)

edit: also, after diggin it out of the corner and it sitting all summer, it looks like the front shocks have blown out or leaked.
there was shock oil under the skis and drips/oil marks on the sides of the shocks. what are some good shocks on the cheap?
i did a sc10 skidoo rev skid swap last year and could use some diffrent fronts to get it closer to the rear travel. are there any longer travel front shocks out there?
thanks again!!!

clean carbs, are all cylinders firing? lights are dull at low rpm and get brighter with rpm, check for wire rub through

Carbs were cleaned and all 3 cylinders have spark. Will check the harness.
How do I test the stator?

If you go used get one off the site here,most are good guys and wouldnt sell junk,just make sure it's been tested,a new one you'll need a loan officer.
but yea it's cold with that wind har to heat the shop for sure..
