I apologize if this is a stupid question...but here goes. I got my bar riser installed last night, then wanted to move on to installing my new powermadd hand guards. I got the bar hooks off, but i couldn't get the grips to slide at all. According to the instructions I'm supposed to slide the grip down and install the strap between the end of the grip and throttle/brake assemblies. I have hot grips, so I'm sure I don't want to just cut the grip away. Is there an easy way to get these things to move, or any way to get some lubrication in there?

Which handguards are you using? The ones I used was a two piece that just clamped on. There was no need to remove the grips. I just loosened off the throttle block and the brake to make room the hand guard clamp.

X2. I used powermadd. Left the grips alone and moved the throttle and break levers over. Worked fine.

They are the Star's, and yes, they are the two piece clamps. Like I said, I'm a rookie.....didn't even think of moving the block/lever over a little bit. Thanks guys, I'll give that a shot!

I have PowerMadds on my SRX and didn't have to move anything. I was able to put the mount on the inside of both the throttle and brake levers, so the hand guards cover the entire assembly.

My Sportechs were real easy to install on my SRX. No modifications at all, just bolt on and go...

X2 way easier than moving the grips
