So, I want to get a spare set or two for my '02 Viper and I was just wondering if I should get the stock NGK or has someone found something better? opinions?

I thought the BR9ECS's were for SRX's and the BR9ES's were for Viper's??
You can run them in any application callen for br9es but yes there SRX spec plugs,i run em in all my sleds added insurance with long WOT pulls.

what makes the ecs better for the long pulls?
they are less prone to cause pre ignition than the br9es because the ground strap is shorter so it cools better. personally i wouldn't waist the money for them if the sled doesn't call for them.

BR9EIX is what i run. Told to by the NGK rep as the spec'd plug (BR9ES) was spec'd when there was little to no ethanol in the gas. He said to run the EIX as they are anti fouling (like the ECS) and the ground strap is designed to disipate heat faster to prevent pre ignition of the ethanol in the newer gas.

All good for a Viper engine. The Viper engine is very easy on plugs unless you heavily mod it or refuse to keep the carbs clean. I have seen Vipers with the original plugs still in them after 9000 miles. The plugs were not even really worn much. I think the crisp ignition, the 3D map, and the great balance of the engine make this happen.

In my honest opinion I suggest running any plug starting with the "BR" the BR is a resistor plug. I ran the irridum plugs for a $40 waste of money. I went back to a BR9 plug and have no hassels even with my motorwork. And YES STICK WITH NGK !!
