i have been wondering if leaded gas would hurt my 00 srx 700. its lake race ported and has mega power heads. what octane should i run in it? a local station sells race fuel at the pump for the circle track near by. just wondering.

if you have high compression heads on it your gonna need a higher octane. leaded is common with race fuel.

im not positive what domes it has but with it being ported i woulld think it would have higher comp domes aswell

leaded fuel won,t hurt anything,i run 110 leaded mixed with 91 to get 95 octane for my 780,never had a problem. if you have used this sled set up like it is on pump gas 91 or 93 what ever you get down there, and it hasn't had detonation problems i would stick to the same fuel . using higher octane fuel than your motor requires will result in less power produced.

no one can tell you what octane to run, w/o knowing your trapped compression ratio, and/or your full stroke compression ratio. who's lake porting? did they setup the heads to that port work? if so, ask them what fuel to run.

You will still be able to get 100LL Av gas for a long time. Aircraft depend on it...
