I used ATF in my Viper

U cleaned your valves without taking them out... **cool--,, yep, that be ATF on the snow........doesn't burn that fast...,

Since there are friction modifiers, etc and other differences in dex/merc, type f, type h, etc.

So Im learning that type f does not have friction modifiers and is used in my Simplicity sub compact hyd system. So now Im wondering if using Dex/Merc as an engine additive/cleaner, etc with friction modifiers would cause some other problems? Is type f better for use in a combustion engine, chaincase, etc, etc? I love this topic....
Type "F" still does have friction modifiers,, ALL TRANS FLUIDS as well as ALL MOTOR OILS have different types of friction modifiers,,,, just NOT AS YOU WOULD CALL MODIFIERS... Type "F" fluid has better LUBRICITY and provides SMOOTHER SHIFTS as a result of the ADDED LUBRICITY (a friction modification)... On the other hand,, Dexron/Mercon has a different package that tends to "grab" a little better... AAS FAR AS using ATF in your daily driver,,,, you WILL DESTROY your CATALYTIC CONVERTOR... DO NOT try this at home in your daily driver... Unless your driving a DIESEL!!!

I decided to try this method this year, all and all pretty simple. But do you leave the atf in the carbs over storage or drain it out?

could someone clear up how to do this? will the sled actually stay running on the atf??? if not how will it get everywhere?
i just unhook the fuel line and the run it for how long?

Put the fuel line into the jug of ATF and try and keep the engine running at 5,000 RPMS until it smokes real good or stalls.

I personally have never done it this way. I spray fogging oil directly into carbs while running. Drain as much gas out the of the tank and pull the carbs.
