srx stock pipes

I have seen more than once that people have pulled there heat sheilds off there pipes.Has any one else done this before.?

That would not seem smart to me. The pipes have to run at the correct temp to make power. I could be out in left field but i think the heat shields are more for keeping the pipes at the right temp then keeping hood from melting.

Yeah don't do it, The srx need the pipes to retain heat to make good power

Thank,s Guy,s.I kinda figured that this wasn,t right.You need too keep the pipes warm and protect the hood.

I took mine off and got the pipes Jet Hot coated.
