Hey guys...

My buddy is having some trouble with his 00 srx 700...

on take of it sometimes bogs out... and it just started doing this his 2nd ride of the season....the carbs where just cleaned and pv's where adjusted...

any ideas what it could be??

Thanks!

I had the same problem with my 00 SRX and the cause was the fuel adjustment screws which I had to back them out 2 1/4 turns, but also I'm running Heelclickers which I was told that they load the motor on hard take off. His sled might have sucked up something from the bottom of the gas tank which he'll have to go through the carbs again just to make sure Hope this helps

ah ok... his sled is stock exept for a mbrp can... I told him to clean out the carbs again incase...and go from there... if that dont work... ill post on this thread again...

if you or any one else has any other ideas of what it could be let me know... thanks for the info needasrx!

did you check the TORS its the wires that come off the carb I beleve ones black and yellow disconect them and conect the wires to themselves see if that fixes it.

Like needaSRX said you may have to turn the fuel screw out a little bit further. We had to do this to one of our SX's. Had them all set for the factory chart, had a bog off the line right away, took carbs off and turned the fuel screws out about 1/8-1/4 turn more, bam works great.

concept.... what would rewiring the TORS do?

and if it does solve the problem... what is causing it?

where abouts from ottawa are ya?...

I live about 1hour east of ottawa

when i take off sometimes the sled will bog out (not stall) and only rev to 3000 rpm, but not go anywere, i have to wait for the rpms to drop back down before i can try and take off again , but other times itll take off and drive no problem, if im goin at a good speed it runs fine, but wen i let off gas completly and stop that is wat happens! any help is appreciated

that sounds like the TORS, you can bypass it like descibed above to see if that is it, check to make sure you have the proper throttle freeplay, to tight will activate the TORS

TORS is a throttle override system that is only supposed to activate as a safety if your throttle sticks. You want to bypass it so it cant activate.

If this is the case then yes, it sounds definitely like the TORS system

Once you have bypassed the TORs, by connecting the wire to themselves, the TORs will no longer limit the throttle as it thinks all is ok :) No amount of run time is needed, its instant.

Just a thought though. I had a Indy 500 that would do the same kind of thing. I had to resync the carburators. Not sure if that would be it but its something else to try. Might want to leave that one until last unless you are good with it. I suck balls at it, my borther did it for me after I screwed it up :)

Boy this thread is hard to follow who's the one with problems who's not,who fixed it who hasn't,lol.

anyway TORS only effects RPMS up around 3,000 rpms not engine off spark not idle spark, everyone is quick to blame TORS, and it don't happen sometimes or once an wile if it IS TORS malfunctioning
it'll do it every single time.

i like keeping it working but that's me it's a simple circuit that's easily diagnosed and repaired.

lol daman... its yammysrx700 with the problem... I just posted for him in the begining... my sled is running perfectly fine right now at the moment.. :)

so now that yammy is bypassing tors.... what would be the culprit cause it to be active? if the throttle cable is properly adjusted... what else would make it "activated"

also... like daman said.. if it was tors it would happen all the time... Im thinking for it to not do it all the time... its a bad connection in the electrical? since connecting them together eliminated the problem.. and it wasnt happening everytime... I would assume that for it to do that something is setting it on and off?

concept... ah ok... do you go sledding with bendersrx (member here) cause I bought his 01 srx off of him... and I know he goes sledding with a few ppl from this site...
