Thanks for the input. I still plan to at least try the Attak skis, and we'll see what happens. Never know, but always good to hear others opinions. I am not a real agressive rider, so being "on rails" in not as important to me as it might be to others. Really what I'm looking for is a little easier steering when we ride long days on packed trails. My Simmons skis have always had a darting problem on packed or icy trails. It is especially bad on a plowed, packed down road. My buddy tried riding my sled, and he even said it was "dangerous".
I have aligned the skis several times, with the recommended toe from the Yammi manual. I have even tried xero toe, and more, and less toe to see what effect it would have. I have also tried more and less preload on the skis using the front track strap, and by adjusting the front shock spring preload. Not much luck.
But, when I put my buddies SXr stock skies on, the sled steered better and no darting !!! So, maybe the Attak skis will help.....I'll let you know !!!
