I would like to get some ideas on a sled for my wife, SRX, viper? she is quite small, and I know I am going to be starting it in the cold, as mine in -30c is a real bear to start. looking for handling....etc.
Ideas? thanks.
Ideas? thanks.

My viper is very easy to start. 9 times out of 10 it goes first pull. The only challenge for smaller people is cracking the throttle and pulling at the same time. Electric start is also an option on either machine. Just turn the key and go!
If you can find a 600[or even a 700] SXR, with reverse + electric start if possible, I don't think there is a more reliable fun trail sled out there for a daily comfortable ride. When you put a high windshield on these sleds they also provide some of the best wind protection available! Try to find the newer twin headlight one...they are an absolutely awesome sled for what you are looking for!

VM DLX ER would be a good fit...
i would like to get a sled for my wife too, but no one wants to trade. just kidding. referring to the throttle crack statement, my wife actually throws the choke to the half position and has good luck with that vs holding the throttle. its all in the foot plant. i always get the first start in for her and shes good for the rest of the day on a warm engine.

I like the srx as well, but have been thinking of the viper...any ideas? it seems that every one thinks the srx is the better way to go.

i wouldn't say that, both are great for different reasons, i'd like to get a viper for my wife, besides then i could choose between the srx and viper when riding with the boys, oh what a dilemait seems that every one thinks the srx is the better way to go.

As in my previous post...I suggest the SXR not the SRX for "The Bride"
Pros:
-no power valves to clean
-long travel suspension
-easy to start
-lighter
-exceptionally reliable
-maybe even less money
Cons:
-they usually have a lot of miles
-No one wants to sell them!!!

i have done that myself, i have an srx and a viper er for my wife( electric start, reverse) they have good suspension and if i have to, like if mine is all tore apart or something its got enough power where it wont kill me to ride it. i keep the suspension set light, a good track and dual runner carbides to do away with darting(make sure to check and adjust for right ski pressure) and its probably the best coice i could have made. She was a beginner and had no problem keeping up. She is not a hot shoe but didnt have to wait for her either like we have to with alot of other people, so i think it must be nimble enough and good enough handling for that to happen. Even that is overkill though, i really dont think a srx would be very practical for most women i know. sideshow has good points too, even maybee some of the vmax delux or something. good luck

for a women a VM DLX with ER would be my choice like i said above,my wife wouldnt ride anything else, she loves the electric start.
i have a 06 fusion 600, 09 iq600, and an old 98 srx, i bought the poo's for my wife and sister, they went and picked them out and i got stuck with the bill LOL, all i can say is between the girls i never get to ride my old srx, and its the only one of the three that they both can pull start,
