srx suspension questions

Hello, I just recently put a 136" extension on my 2000 srx. It always sat up a little in the back but never this bad. The rear of the suspension sits up 3 1/2 inches off the ground. I always thought they were suposed to sit flat. I hear that drag racers actually put a scale under the track in the front and bact to ensure equall weight. All my non yamaha riding friends whis is all of them think my sled is broke and assure my that i will continue to sit and spin eventho i just put the 1.25 ripsaw and a 136 extension on it.

Is there anything i can do to correct this or is it the way its suposed to be?

Please help me understand how this suspension works because as of now im clueless. all the sled i see sit flat except for mine :rockon:

the limiters are set at 1 inch from the end of the bolt to the plate. The ski suspension is stock. it has always looked like this and ive always had horrible traction. the whole reason i got the ripsaw and 136 extension. with the extensions on it looks even worse. there is no long travel kit on this sled its all stock except for the transfer rods they are after market i still have the stock ones tho
 
The limiter straps on the 2000 srx and newer are extremly long and without getting more height out of the front suspension you will have to pull the limiter straps up and try and get the skid to be as flat as you can with the skis. With the front of the suspension that far down, all its going to do is dig and not want to push you out and on top of the snow when going off trail. The only other thing you can do is a relocation template from Mountian Performance to change the approach angle of the skid. As far as traction with that long of a track and studs down the middle should really help it hook, even with the track flat. You can also crank the front ski springs stiffer and that will change your front ride height but may ride rough.
 
begining to think my cheapest way to fix this is to tighten the limiter straps up quite a bit and getting the adj. shock mounting brackets for the ski's. Id rather do that than tighten the springs. from what ive read in other post you can get a inch more in the front without any skid steer.
 
i just got off the phone with Tom Hartman and he said that year they made 2 different aftermarket transfer rods a short pair and a longer pair.Maby i got the short pair. im gonna put the stock transfer rods on and see if that helps any
 
looking at your pics, I think you have it bolted in the wrong hole if you are using the longer rods....I think that may be the problem. Are you running the long travel kit along with the extension??
 
its not a longtravel kit just stock and the control rods bolt to the foward holes on the sliderails. i tried to bolt them on the back koles but they didnt seem long enough. Maby tomorrow night if i get time im going to install the stock transfer rods and see if that helps any.
 
ty mr sled for all your help i will definatly keep ya posted. i tried to get into the chat tonight but it says i have java probs. ill get it figured out maby next time.
