anyone break a 00 srx steering post?

i've heard of the 98-99s breaking, and that the 00 and ups were stronger but has anyone had probs with the 00 & ups with a riser, plan on running a small riser and mines apart right now so now would be the time to reinforce

i would do if your there. but small risers shouldnt be a big deal.

I busted my steering post on my 2000 srx a few yrs ago and i only have a 2" riser on it.

There was a post of a guy pounding a pipe into it to hard and put a hole in his heat exchainger.He had to tight of a fit i suppoze.lol

i read that when i was searching the subject, i'll try to find a pipe that goes in fairly easy then weld the top

Ya i wanted to give you a heads up that would suck.I am shure you could cold weld it in there but nothing wrong with welding the top flange.

Never broke one on my srx but busted the exciters one day out on the trail.
