just wondering if i have any chance against my buddies newly acquired mach z? it does have aftermarket pipes and thats it. I think it will take me, mine is stock other than some subtle clutching....anyone have experience with this machine?

800 mach z.. In the hands of a good tuner IE set-up clutching .. your gonna have a hard time. those sleds really move and is really a handful even for a SRX

Those sleds are around 150 HP or so

the SRX 700 was known as the MachZ killer make sure your clutching is tuned right and you might be surprised what you SRX will do, OH yea make sure you have some traction, makes a big differance

All my buds have various years Mach Z,s. If the owner can tune the SRX gets destroyed. There are about 8 of these sleds in our group & my buds can tune. sRX/Apex gets eaten.

I had a 96 Mach Z 780, and my friend had a 98 SRX 700, we were both picked, and there was no way he was winning. My old Mach was FAST!, But I loved the style of the SRX, so Now that is what I am riding.
How do you think The SRX will do against a 800 twin mxz? Looking forward to trying this winter.

A well set up + maintained Mach Z is a ROCKET[especially when they've raised the cylinders, cut the heads ect]
Before I went all out on my 800VMAX4 they would always be a challenge to beat in 660"

On the second hand...one of my son's friends had one and we had no trouble at all with it against his piped/ported SX.

Maybe you can catch him sleeping on his set up...then NEVER race him again!! LOL!

That's how I am with my friends, if I beat them.....No sorry boys I won, no more today. HAHA....pisses them off so much.
I just feel that the srx has the best of both worlds Fast, and a timeless look, I mean, its over 10 years old, and still one of the hottest rides out there. :2strokes:

BEST MACH WAS THE 1997. OLDER CHASSIS, MOST HP AND THE FIRST 800. THESE WERE A HANDFUL, 98-99-2000 I HAVE RACED WITH MY VMAX4, MY 2000 SRX AND MY 2002 SRX WERE NO PROBLEM. WITH THAT SAID. THEY CAN FLY SET-UP RIGHT. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Mach z wins......when it runs.I had a few of them and always had problems with stators, fuel pumps, cdi's,center crank bearings.

zzzz

x2 cluching & traction.the ski-doo clutches have a 24% angle on the sheeves the orther 3 yam-cat-pol have a 27% to 28% on ther clutche sheeve. thats wy the doos PULL HARDER.could gear it down a littile or go to the tech forum & set up for 1000 ft. LOL. good luck & give him :die: hell!!!! :yam:
