I have been looking for a SRX 700. Many that I see are either outrageously priced (IMO) or real turds. Locally there is a clean '98 600, 3170 miles at $1500. What is the difference performance wise between a 600 and 700?

If the SRX 600 is setup correctly, it is no joke at all. There are several people on this site who have had their 600's up in the 117 range on radar. Our SRX 600 is very competitive with our 700 but the midrange and top end, the 700 pulls by about 5 mph. I believe the SRX 600's were more in the range of 125 HP aswell.

agree. 125+

I was refering to a link to a dyno sheet that was posted here , 600 srx @8350 116hp ,

my first 600 ran 121.1 flat out once mostly 114 to 118

the one i got now is set up for 2000ft. 110.3 and i have no chance vs. jabber 700 119mph /2000 or Bob's sxr 116/2000 ft ...and mine is far from stock !!!

I like my sled for $1500 its a real nice sled. I run with my buddies fx nytro on the top.... I get about 100-105 (on gps) on the top...but mine is setup for the trail.. Some day I would like to make it a sleeper, but tell then its a hell of a race car on the trail. I have herd somewhere in the high teens to low 120's for hp!! If you can't find a 700 it takes cdi, jugs, heads, pistons powervalves and jetting in the carbs and some clutch work to have one. You will be right around $2000 give or take to have a srx 700. Every year I look at up grading, but then I go out on the trail and every year I think its plenty corner to corner!!!!

I owned 2 600 srx,s. Had the 99 trail ported by local engine builder. Saw 131 hp at 8400 rpm.

I owned a 98 600 and it was no joke. I worked very hard to put my 01 around 110 in 1000' and the guy i sold the 600 brought it to a run once and i threw a quick setup in it and in the first run we had it just under a hundo which is pretty damn good for a stab in the dark. Most stock 600 trophies go around 102 to 105 range. If the 600 had the ignition's like the 01 i think you would see alot more of them winning races. Wish i would have never sold it

I have a '98 700 and my brother-in-law has a '98 600. His 600 is right behind me when we peg the throttle. My 700 slowly pulls away from his, but very slowly. Like others have said, the SRX 600 is no joke.
