Ok guys
I know when doing head gasket mod you remove some layer from gasket.
But what layer you have removed and how much thinner head gasket you are using.
Orginal gasket has 5 layers, 0.20 mm 0.19 mm 0.60mm0.19mm 0.20mm.
What i can remove, opinnions and experiences needed
And how much compresssion your modded engines have?
thanks

i removed the 2 middle layers on mine and it seems good, no issues what so ever on it. My compression has not been measured but i do have lots more snap in the engine

I suppose those 0.19 mm layers. Could measure compression for me?

I removed those 2 middle layers 0.19 mm each.
It gave about 1.0 bar more compression and its now 140-145 psi.
I can t remove middle 0.6mm thick layer because it has different water holes than any other layer.
piston wash looked ok

will you have to rejet , run 93 octane fuel ? .

No rejet and I run always 98 oct fuel with 3% synthetic oil premix.

the best pump gas around my area is 91 / 93 octane fuel, some of the bumpkin towns dont even have that. what would be fuel octane minmum requirements be for 140 -145 compression? my motor is .50 over would that also raise compression?

does the 97 600 twin v max xtc have the same gasket as mentioned in thread

That actually makes you run leaner you know. Premixing oil with the gas.

90 to 120
I used 2 thin 1's comp from 90 to 120
runs better
 and freeze
