clutch question

after riding trail for 30 miles, i stopped to check to make sure everything was ok and noticed that the motor side clutch sheive was hot but all the rest were cool, is this just normal engine heat transfer? also noticed the cylinder on recoil side was running 30 degress hotter but plugs read the same is this normal on a vmax

What sled are you riding & what were wide open rpm,s?
Need a ton more info.
Sounds like poor clutching & belt slippage.

its a 95 vmax 600 with gyt twins ,a hawk blue primary spring,and hawk secondary k helix with red spring, stock weights, rivits?-wrap? i have to look, will get them to you.engagement is 4000 on quick snap 4300 on slow throttle. about slippage wouldnt both shieves on motor be hot? just asking. the trail was ungroomed and i was the first sled so not alot of high speed running alot of cruising throttle(around 5000 rpm) in the powder, i know on one small groomed part not long at all i stabed it and rpm jumped to around 8100? and climbed to around 8700? and was still climbing when i had to slow

Your definately overrevving for starters & need more primary weight. In some conditions with a lot of up & backshift clutches can get very hot.

ok checked primary is hawk blue,stock weight with 3.6gram inside 3.6gram outside, hawk red secondary spring wraped 9-2 46 lbs fish scale.
