ALL SRX's are fast

I got in an argument today ( with a guy thats never wrong ) about how his 02 srx is faster than my 99 if they were stock for stock,and how the 00'+ were way faster (mine is far from stock now).
now I personally have video from a few years ago of myself along with an
01' SRX, 00' SRX with a poorly installed bender pkg., a rev 600, mxz 800, and brave buddy on his ole man's classic touring 550, and by some miracle I guess, I won, all sleds were stock even clutching and stud patterns were the same (except the other 00') and these are not the only 00+ srx's I've taken over the years in stock form, just wondering if I have the only pre 2000 srx that can beat anything newer in the world, because people tell me this s@#* all the time and want to know if theres anyone else in the same boat, personally I do like the 01' the best, but to get the point across all SRX's are fast, so people pull your head out your a$$, sorry for ranting but the guy really ticked me off.

I also think generally srx's are fast. I also think that there are lots of newer srx's that are really fast and some newer srx's that are slower. I also think that some of the 98-99's are faster than others. This has to do with a lot of factors.
Clutching, gearing, clutch alignment, deflection, new belt, worn parts,track alignment, track tension, type of track, studs, driver weight etc, etc,etc...

Stock for stock the 2000-2002 145ish hp(better porting) 98-99 138ish hp,,you got lucky some how..
 
The 01 has been thought of as the best srx. I do know my 98, with 22/40 gearing with 8 tooth drivers and 8dn20's with 5.5 in second hole and 3.5 in tip. I know my Srx will hit top speed of 110 Mph at 8500rpm on my gps But I live where it is very cold , my sled may be lean, but I know its faster than a doo! I also know I am going out riding right now have a great night guys and......
 
GUYS I BOUGHT A 99 NEW, RAN GOOD, I BOUGHT MY 2000 NEW, IT WOULD EAT MY 99 FROM START TO FINISH. ALSO BOUGHT MY 2002 BRAND NEW. FASTEST OF THE THREE TOP END. IN A DRAG RACE SAY TO 660, MY 2000 WILL EAT MY 02. ALL THAT SAID ITS IN SET-UP. 3:16 (yammie tony)
 
Two sleds on an assembly line, one in front of the other, both are built the same, both have the same parts, but one is 5mph faster than the other, go figure.
 
Someday I will own a '99 - '01 SRX. In particular one with an M-10, maybe stretched to 136" ......

Anyone selling??????

My new 99 was a rocket and I didnt think it could get much better. 10 yrs later my 02 with a Bender can and a Maximum roller secondary and a 64/44 helix feels even stronger. I wish I had the 2 side by side cuz after 10 yrs it all feels the same! Im not sure my 02 is set up correctly but it sure is fu-in fast no doubt.

Eitherway I agree, their all fast from 98-02....
