Just got my sled back together and wow what a difference with the edge skid with foxclicker, now its going to be a hard to keep the skis on the ground. The nice thing is you can slowly raise the skis and its very smooth. If i jum on the back the front lifts just sitting there when you lean you can lift a ski with no effort it feel slike I went from driving a haywaggon to a corvette ;)!

I would deffinatly recomend this to anyone, best mod yet. And know the rear ohlins didnt even compare. :letitsnow

I agree completely... I put an Edge under my SRX, it handles the trails the best of anything i've tried yet (havent tried any of them fancy aftermarket ones though)...

How does the extra power feel?

giggidi. she is fnn snappy. havnt open her up really have to break the motor in. and need to go get gas turns out thats important lol. Mrviper did an amazing job on the porting. Feels like I have a brand new sled now.

When you say you put a edge frame under you srx, is that a edge frame from a poaris? can you do that? is is very hard t do?.....sorry for the questions.

That is a great Viper you have...very personalized!

Thanks im running out of things to do now going to have to work on alot of cosmetics I guess. Well my next project is to build a full allum/carbonfiber front end or crome moly.

I understand your opinion and your joy for your edge, but I beg to differ.......

Have you tryed a viper with a edge skid with fox clickers. Im 250lbs and my previous ohlins where great but know where near as smooth . edge is nicer, lighter, smoother and has transfer and dosnt fall apart not to mention you dont have to adjust the track through the windows and when you take out it dosnt bite you. Yamaha reallky screwed the pooch on there noaction. ;)!

I got a edge skid from an 05 polaris xcsp. It was a very easy install just need to drill new holes and make a bracket if you do a search there is a couple topics on this.

Great you like it, I bet it's nice. Polaris has always made good skids -- because FAST Industries showed Polaris how to do it. However, I weigh about 60 lbs. less than you. I primarily ride this sled off trail. My skid transfers fine. What I wanted more cushion. The Ohlins properly set up does the trick IMO. Never had to go through the track windows to adjust my track. Mine is a Mnt. Viper........

Just to let you know, I bet the edge skid does work nice.....

My '96 XCR had what I believe was the first year for the Xtra-10 which was the precursor to the Edge skid and 3-4 years before Polaris became involved with Fast. Aside from the necassary annual Fox shock rebuild, it by far blew away the SRX skid.

Having said that, I replaced the SRX skid with a KYB-Viper skid a couple years back and have been pretty happy with it.

If I read correctly, you have the stock skid in your Viper. How do you adjust the track tension other than through the track windows?

I would say though that the durability problems with the pro-action turned a lot a riders off. Once stuff started to wear the skid was harder to dial in. I had fits trying to dial mine in not knowing I needed to perform daily maintenance on the crappy bushings.

I know of two guys that bought new in '01 along with me that switched brands the next year.

Did you raise and or widen the front end? I recently bought a 'o4 Viper skid and most of what I have read seems to point towards having to work the front. TIA

thats more of a problem with the srx than it is with a viper although it wouldn't hurt

I had my head in my a$$. I know he has a Viper but was thinking SRX...my bad. I'm heading out to my shop now to remove my head from my spingta.

And before anyone corrects me....that was just creative spelling.

I also loved my ohlins that it was the greastest thing sense slice bread then tryed the edge

I did the Ohlins route in my wife's mountain max. It was nice compared to the stockers, but doesn't even compare to the Polaris/Holz that is in it now. Superior in every way compared to the stock yamaha skid. Got on in my srx too.
