Hey folks my srx is backfiring around 2,500 to 4500 rpm.. what could that be??

Does it do it continuously? Could be your TORS. If you do a search there is a lot of information on it. Its a throttle overide that limits your RPM's.

no, i know what it is but, its not that.. flames come out of my exhaust.. Its pretty loud too it seems like only one cly. is doing it, but it never did that before..

Ive had that happen due to clogged pilot jets.

I would say something to do with jetting. Very possibly clogged. I would try cleaning carbs/jets.

Unburnt fuel in the pipes???
Change the plugs first, then try it.

Yeah.. it melted the piston then it spun the ring.. soo i need a new cly..

this the season for meltdowns it seems again.been a few on here that have gone through this already. Combination of your bad fuel and carbs dirty.By bad fuel,I mean what you guys are getting at the pumps these days...not good.
