changing out all the plastic lines in the srx, the line from pump to pump is about 1/8" id but alot more wall thickness than a standard line, i'm guessing to prevent kinking or collapse. it's like $15 to replace these through yamaha, which is ridiculous for a foot of plastic line. any alternatives? checked with NAPA, they dont have that wall thickness

I have been using the blue polyurethane hose for yesrs for both the fuel and oil lines. Never had a problem. I use the stock coils spring over the tubing which prevents it from getting pinched or kinked. I have used plastic wire tie as clamps since the small stock hose clamps will not work due to the thinner wall thickness on teh blue ploy tubing. I found the blue polyurethane tubing will remain soft and pliable for many years.

Stagg, does your engine have two check valves in the oil pump lines?? The parts manual shows a check valve in the line that goes from the pump to the bottom of the crankcase and it shows another check valve in the line going from the oil pump to the fuel pump. The 2000 SRX which I am rebuilding has a check valve only in the line going from the oil pump to the bottom of the crankcase. Thanks!!

where did you end up getting your poly tubing from? i need to replace the 3 lines from the fuel pump to the carbs. they are extremely stiff. i assume .125"ID is the correct size?

You can probably get the blue polyuretane tubing from some of the sponsors on thsi site. My dealers ended up having the diameters I needed. You can also order it from Dennis Kirk, they sell 4 differenet diameters in 5 ft. lengths.
