I agree....no arguments, just discussions. I was just trying to offer a different discussion....my opinion on what to do with the sled.....what I would consider if I was in his shoes. Not one person mentioned my perspective which I feel is valuable in this case. I don't think I'd roll the dice again unless I found somthing difinitive like a totally screwed up crank seal. It's too bad he didn't do the ether crank seal test the first time he rebuilt it....might have saved himself a few $$.....or several $$. That motor is hurt bad. He needs a cylinder, head, piston, rings and he still doesn't even know what caused the burn down.

I hear you i really do and agree with you everybody's ideas are valuable no matter how small and should be heard,but.....it's up to him, if he wants to rebuild we'll be here with any help we can give.

i tell ya(cant remember what was done last year to it)but i'd rip it down to nothing and start from scratch over looking nothing.

i really gota learn how to spell, lol

you guys are funny and alot of great help. ;)! I do thank you for the fun time and help on here. Also good times on the phone. I am not sue what I am going to do. fix it sell it. just sell it..... :o|

Yea its been a long ride with this sled..... :brr

Well there is another option to parting it out.... "IF" he can find a donor sled that he can get the complete motor with carbs and airbox and wireharness/PCM/exhaust out of he can transplant the triple motor into that chassis.

Yea but that is going to be alot of $$$$$$$$$

I wonder what it might be worth selling it the way it is. The skis/skags are in bad shape. it has 7000 miles. It also has e/r

Was thinking of - if you could find a sled that was wrecked and were able to pick it up for a song the transplant wouldn't/shouldn't be that hard and there really isnt anything wrong with your chassis except that it has some miles on it. Just a thought.

thanks

We will see what happens. I think I found a friend that might buy it but not sure what to tell him for a price. I am still going to need a 5th sled for the family.

from all the reading i just did on this post I can tell you that you have a bad crank seal and or a possible bad fuel pump also.when you did a compression test your numbers didnt jive the 130 side is sucking air.as long as the throttle is closed when you did the test on both cylinders. The bad fuel pump can be dumping more fuel into your crankcase most likly the mag side because that is the side the pulse line feeds off that can be why your plug has more contaminates on it .now I didnt see what cylinders the plugs came from or the compression was from but with this little info you should be able to figure it out.I rode a vmax a whole weekend with the clutch side seal gone and the piston skirt was missing below the wrist pin. I bought the sled on a thursday night with a blown engine and brought it home . I charged the battery and it started upTook it to wisconsin the next day and rode the weekend brought it home and took apart on monday to find out why the previos owner sold it with ablown motor. compression was 140 left side and 122 right side.
