I have a 2004 SXViper that always seems to push in the corners. I have pulled the front limiter strap up to have 1.25 inch of thread showing, added Woody Dually Carbides, and gone through the Yamaha dealer sled height setup. With all this the sled still seems to push in the corners unless I am practically sitting on the gas tank! I am about 200 lbs, but I am not sure of what else I should try to adjust to make the sled more trail ride-able. Suggestions?
I have used Dooleys and for me the pushing wasn't bad, but i've heard lots of others complain Woody's Dooley's can push really bad in the corners.
My dealer sold me one 8" Dooley and one 4" Dooley when I used them. I used those two, one on each ski, and only experienced minimal pushing. Go ahead and laugh, this is true!!!!
But I eventually got sick of the huge, heavy carbides and this year I'm going with Slydog Powderhounds with Bergstrom 8" carbides. I also shimmed my skis in the rear of the rubber piece per the threads on this site. If I were you, I would try other skis/ carbides and shimming. Good luck.

Apparently the "Slim Jim" Dualies are are supposed to be better than the original Woodys Dualies as far as cornering. I'd say they're worth a try.

Too many picks?I don't run picks and I've never had a push issue.

I use StudBoy Shaper Bars for carbides on my SRX and that corrected my corner push issue. Have you tried adjusting the front suspension - adding pressure?

Try putting more preload into your front springs (raising the front end). I have 6" carbides with 96 studs down the center and it has no push at all. Before the new carbides, and adjustments, it pushed terrible.

Take all the tranfer out of the tranfer rods, this will help keep the front down when getting in, through & out of corners.
try a set of bergstorm tripple threat it will be on rails

Thanks, I added a bit of front suspension pressure, and I pulled up the front limiter straps a bit. I will try that, and hopefully it will help.

above someone mentioned too many picks. Are they sayong maybe too many studs will make it tough to turn the sled because the track bites so hard? This could be feasible. Report back on how tightening the limiter straps helps. This is usually key to ski presure.

My 04 Viper is an S and i weigh 250. Stock suspension I ran 3/4" (from nut) on the limiter straps, min pre load on the center shock spring, transfer rods stock postion, crank the rear spring to get your rid height, and a nice pair of 4 or 6 inch Woody's Extenders or Trail Blazers. Do you have an S or an ER or a std viper? The bolts on the limiter straps in longer (stock) position. Did over 7500 miles set up like that - no pushing in corners ever. No studs in ripsaw or 256 in ice ripper track. Does that help?
