Hey guys,
Been doing lots of reading but haven't found an answer yet. I had a primary clutch that broke one of the spider arms last year. So this year I got a used one from what I think is a 1996 VMAX XT. It was on the shelf at a used parts shop so I can't confirm. I also replaced the secondary because it looked like it was wobbling when spinning. Later found out that the bearing was bad. I'm wondering if I should replace any of the springs or weights or all of the above. I have no idea how many miles were on the replacement clutches but the machine at least moves now. If I am going to need to replace them I would rather get a little more snap out of it. It is my wifes machine but still would like it to run good. I read all the clutch tuning guides but never seen a 1994 VMAX LE 600 in there. We only do trail riding.
I also think it's running pretty poor. I've read to move the needle clip but what way should I move it. Up or down?
I heard from a friend that the jacket around the needles tend to turn into egg shapes and need to be replaced. Is this true or is it just probably pig rich from the factory?

replace the flyweights , and spring ,and you should be good! in other words put the guts of your old clutch in to the new! check rollers to make sure there good..replace if neccessary
