yea thats definately true! where do you get urs? how much is it?

I get mine at Canadian Tire it comes in a 6 or 8 pack I think...make sure you get the Isopropyl the labels are blue. Can't remember how much it is.

I would just use a cap full, not very much. I don't know if it's true but I have been told that isopropyl will make your engine run hotter then normal. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

I have used it in my bravo and phazer and it always did the trick.

I have been trying to find this out why isopropyl would make your sled burn hotter.

I called the old man and asked him why he always said not to add to much gas line antifreeze to the old sled and he told me it's because isopropyl burns faster.

Don’t want to high jack this thread but I too would like to know if isopropyl makes your sled run hotter?

hyjack it all ya want dude... im curious just as much! and my buddy solved his problem from what he txted me last night..

If it does make the fuel burn faster... it couldnt be much different then throwing in "octane" booster...

Too much Isopropyl would not be good, a few ounces in 10 gallons is not going to hurt anything and will help prevent iciing. DON'T USE IT AS OCTANE BOOST!!!

ah ok... as long as it doesnt effect the engine overly like Hotter running its good to go...

nah sideshow I wouldnt use it as octane booster... I was just thinking that if it does burn quicker then it would almost have the same properties as octane booster... and there are some people out there that use it and have had no problems engine wise using it... such as a hotter engine

Im with 90% of the people on here and using octan booster... bunch of crap... I have a well moded 4wheeler that was supposed to be able to run on pump gas... I added octane booster to help it out... until I found out it did zilch more or less and need to run mix 50 pump 50 race (110)

sideshow... if your engine isnt running hotter because of it.. or nothing noticable.. i will def try it out... if I feel that its hotter ill just use less... ill try with a few ounces and go from there prob start off with 2-3 ouces depending what the bottle says

dont they add ethanol to gas in canada? ethanol is alcohol so i dont think you would need to add isopropyl alcohol. They add ethanol here but you can purchase nonethanol 4 snowmobile. alcohol is corrosive so i dont use it.

yup so im running 94 ethanol gas... im going to have to find some where that offers high enough octane and no ethanol free..

if I am using ehtanol based fuel... them more or less means I dont overly have to worry about icing occuring then right?

yea... the gas station im going to used to run 94... then went to 91 for a few years then for some reason went back to 94... but their gas isnt the greatest... ive seen 1 or two people have a problem with their fuel but its the closest place for me to go and no one has had any problems just yet when they switched back over to 94...

from the looks of it i would more or less prefer to run nonethanol fuel... though 94octane is prob abit better to be running less predet going on if it does happen
