MT Viper with remote carb adjusters (NL brand). LEAN

I need some help with the carb adjusters on the viper I bought this past summer....Its running great, I have triple slp's.

PTO plug looks lean to me compare to the other two that seem to be right on the spot. Like I said sled is running great. And it was warm outside.

Now could I adjust it turning the knob on the adjusters, they have a NL stamped on the top, not sure how they work or what brand they are.

Right now I am running 47.5 pilots and 162.5 on mains.

Those are Northern Lites, I have them as well. They are fuel adjusters, not air, so opening them more gives you more fuel in the pilot circuit[richer]. They adjust throttle response and most of the fuel flow from idle to 1/8 throttle so if you are showing lean at higher throttle opening then that you need to adjust your fuel some where else, ie: needle setting or main jet.
To adjust them:
-standing by the left side of your sled looking forward...turning the knob clockwise leans the pilot circuit, turning the knobs counterclockwise richens the pilot circuit.
-if you are unsure of the base setting, count the turns clockwise to lightly seat them then counterclockwise to the desired setting, do one at a time in case you lose track of the turns
-they normally are all set the same.
Northern lites products were of very high quality...gone now I think

Sounds good Bob, I don't think I will touch them then...I will go one size richer on my main....

Since you mention the jet needle....Should I move that instead of changing my main...? I never adjust them using the needle just the main or pilot.....

I will post some pics later......The plug itslef looks good all over but its silver on the outer ring.....

They all look rich to me. In an earlier post you said it was warm outside for testing. This make the engine jetting rich. Maybe as temps come down they will appear just right as I prefer a lighter cardboard color. Pic one has no carbon build up around the threaded body because of the fuel wash being very rich. As the jetting leans out it begins to dry out and deposit carbon.

Thanks for the comments MAC, I will test again when it gets colder, I always rather be rich, So I guess I will be ok. I will read on that link...
