Recoil, gone to the happy hunting grounds or ??

Recoil still fuggered, not to sure if it is worn out or ?

Ok, besides a good ride and then having my belt explode on me, which in turn destroyed enough crap under the hood, got back to load the sled up and my buddy tells me my recoil rope is hanging out. Now it was not hanging out when I was riding, seems like when I just shut it off it fell out.

Got home, pulled the recoil off, pulled it apart, everything looks fine, as I thought the recoil itself was busted, everything checked out from what I can see, I put things back together, now when I try to recoil it back it is under force, as if it wants to spit the rope out at me. I obvioulsy put something back on wrong, if anything if I am correct it should be sucking it all back in or did I go about the steps wrong on this.

Maybe someone can post a few pics of the insides for me or some directions as my shop manual is just terrible.

It is on a 98 700 Redhead Vmax SX.

Actually, after retrying to recoil it, no luck, so I am back to square one, and now the darn coil is out of it, any trick to getting this thing back in?

Second can someone if they have a picture show me the actual plastic part, clearish part the rope goes around and where the coil fits into it, I am pretty sure this is why it did not coil back up, but looking at it I cannot be certain.
