Can you fit a 3.0 pitch 2.5" track, using 7 tooth 3.0 pitch drivers, in a 05 Mtn Viper?

Im gonna say no. I have a 2.25 with 3" pitch 7 tooth avid drivers and i have maybe a 1/4 inch until the paddles hit the front cooler.
We have a 2.25"x2.52 pitch with 8 tooth in there now. (stock)

8t x 2.52" ----- 8 x 2.52 = 20.16"
7t x 3" -------- 7 x 3" = 21"
overall the 7t gives you less clearance.
05' came with a 2" track stock, he must have had the track changed out.
SXlover if you have 1/2" clearance now with the 2.25" you should be able to clear the 2.5", havent seen it done but if you have 1/2" now you should be able to do it.

What are you going to run for drivers? For what i have found is the Avid CNC'd drivers are a 1/4" smaller in diameter than the Wahl Brothers molded... Thats why i went with the CnC'd Drivers...
the 7 tooth 3 pitch and the 8 tooth 2.52 pitch are darn near the same diameter

Sorry bout that guys, my bad. It is infact 2", I got confused with my Apex Mtn. We are the original owners of the 05 Vipers. Have to do some looking to see how much clearance we currentlly have.

Haven't looked yet to see if the shafts are the same, but we got the drivers out of the same Nytro MTX that we got the skid and track from. The skid is the original Nytro skid with an Arctic Cat rear axle flipped which will allow us to run a 156" track.

2.25
Trying to get the drive axle in the tunnel with a 16 wide 2.25 inch track with 8 tooth extros is a real pain, 2.5 is .............!!! with a stock tunnel.

We have the 2" stock Challenger in there now and have about a 1/2" clearance, so I'm thinkin that a 2.5" 3.0pitch track wouldn't fit, I'd sure like to try it though...

a 3.0 pitch 2.25" lug track will work however... How long of a 2.5" were you going to put in?
