Many choice words get spoken when pulling and putting my rear suspension in and out. What tricks do you have to make it easier? I generally do the front bolts first, then the rear and then the middle, which can be a PIA sometimes.
Just went through this! Loosen the transfer rod bolts (bottom of transfer rods) That will make install a lot easier!

Installing , Front, middle, rear! Pulling the suspension, Rear, middle, front
I removed the rear axle the last time I removed my skid. With the wheels out it was very easy to remove the skid. Putting it back in was a little more difficult. I put the front mount up into the topside of the drivers and hold it there with a strap. Then I wiggle the rear of the skid around the drive lugs of the track. Once it is sitting in place I remove the strap from the front and install the front bolts. Next is the rear bolts and then lossen the transfer rods and install the middle bolts. Then tighten the transfer rods. Here's a pic of the transfer rod loose.

My longtime Yamaha mechanic told me the trick was to get the backend up real high.

I do mine on its side, with suspension at 90 degrees held up by a floor jack, for the front bolts!

If you put your middle bolts in before the rear it takes the grunt work outta the whole job!

Remove the bottom rear scissor and transfer rod bolts that go through the slide rail, then intall front and middle bolts, then scissor and transfer rod bolts. (Takes about 20 min.)

it works for me to just take the bolt out that hold in the radius arms, it acomplishes the same thing as the transfer rods.
I have the whole sled up in the air hanging from the overhead hoist. The skis are somewhat setting on the portable bench and the track is just touching another portable bench. Loosen track tension adjustmet completely, loosen transfer rods completly also. Remove all mounting bolts, let suspension set on bench. Raise sled accordingly to remove skid. slide out skid frame from track.
Reassemble, I spray a silicon spray on the inside of track, suspend chassie up and slide in skid frame. once skid is installed track line up front mounting bolts, and then rear bolts. once bolts are installed, loosley install center, tighten all accordingly.
I believe raising the sled to a height which is easily workable is the key. Imagine how the installers on the assy line would install. Obviously they are not setting the sled on its side or even raising only the rear, heck the installer never evens bends over. Al

Basically all of the above!
Uninstalling:
I take the bolts out from the rear, middle, then front. I also remove rear axle, then it makes it easier to wiggle out. Another trick is to turn the sled on it's side which I have tried for installation but not for removing, yet.
Installing:
I turn the sled on it's side. I angle the track perpendicular to the bottom of the sled with the skid sitting right beside it, also perpendicular to the sled. Then you simply, drop the skid into the track, which is very easy. After that some people install the skid while the sled is still on it's side, but I just turn the sled back over with the rear end up on a stand, and put the skid in place. Install front bolts, then middle, then loosen transfer rods, then install rear bolts, then tighten transfer rods.
After the first couple of times you do it, it will become very simple once you try out all of the tricks. I have only done it once, but I could probably remove and install the skid in about 30 min. now!
