i need some help here, i think i broke my drive shaft but im not sure. if you give it any gas the track skips, i tipped it up on its side and the left side track sproket moves back and forth a little and the other one doesnt spin.

Sounds like you lost a bearing on your drive sprocket, chaincase side
i was wondering that but i just had all new bearings put in 800km ago

I broke one a few yrs back on my srx too.
It broke right in the middle of one of the drivers and it was spinning inside of it. If you pick up the back of the sled it would spin the track, but when you put the sled down, it would just make skipping noises. Second time it happened, I knew exactly where it was broke.
Cheers,
Rick.

i flipped the sled over a couple minutes ago and the shaft is sheared off between the two sprockets

Make sure to check/change all drive, jackshaft bearings when you have it all apart.

In all my years of ditch bangin, I have never snapped a shaft off between the drivers, But I have twisted them off in the chaincase!Wow you must be really tanning this sled... I had 30000 km on my viper, with only one twist off shaft and one lost chaincase!

right now we have a foot of really hard base and a foot of pow on top with big drifts in the fence rows, and i was catwalking through the drifts and hit the really hard stuff at the end of one of the drifts and it hooked up real good while i was still spinning and it stood straight up on the bumper and then she snapped.
